SIR Alex Ferguson has targeted Porto’s Jose Bosingwa to solve United’s problem right
back position.
With Gary Neville struggling to overcome injury and Wes Brown still to put pen to
paper on a new deal, Fergie knows he needs cover on the right of defence.
Bosingwa would cost in the region of £15m and has been recommended to Fergie by
assistant Carlos Queiroz.
United have sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old, who is known for his attacking
style.
The player himself knows of Fergie’s interest and would welcome a move to Old Trafford.
“Being linked with United is a positive thing as it means I am performing well,”
he said. "United are a sensational club.
"To play next to Cristiano Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani is such a big advantage.
"But until the end of the season I think only of Porto. I want to fight for the
Champions League."
